ד"ר אסף וילנסקי הינו בוגר הפקולטה לרפואת שיניים באוניברסיטה העברית- הדסה עין כרם בשנת 2002 שם גם סיים את תוכנית ההתמחות בפריודונטיה קיבל את תואר ה"מומחה" ממשרד הבריאות  ומהאיגוד האירופאי לפריודונטיה (European Federation of Periodontology). ד"ר וילנסקי הינו רופא בכיר בדרגת מרצה בכיר במחלקה לפריודונטיה בה מדריך מתמחים ואחראי על הוראת הסטודנטים לרפואת שיניים בשנה השישית. בעל תואר PhD בחקר המנגנונים בעזרתם מצליח החיידק Porphyromonas gingivalis ל"התחמק" מהתגובה החיסונית וממערכות ההגנה של המאכסן ובכך ליצור מחלת חניכיים. כיום, מתמקד מחקרו הבסיסי באפיון התגובה הדלקתית במחלת חניכיים ובדרכים למניעתה ומחקרו הקליני בהתפתחות מחלת חניכיים סביב שתלים "Peri-Implantitis" ובחומרי רגנרציה גרמית במקרים של חסר עצם.  ד"ר וילנסקי הרצה ופרסם את ממצאיו בכנסים ובעיתונות בינלאומית וזכה בפרסים ומענקי מחקר לאומיים ובינלאומיים.
