Research Interests
Gene-expression of bone cells around infected orthopedic implants and the effect of local slow release antibiotics. Automated image analysis supported by computerized quantitative morphometry for the study of observations obtained by electron and light microscopy in normal and pathological conditions. Structural and biological properties of extracellular matrix vesicles in bone, fracture healing and in hard tissues. The effect of orthopedic implants on calcification in bones in diabetes .
Research Projects
Development of novel computerized quantitative histomorphometric methodology to study oral and systemic pathological changes, cancer and wound healing. The effects of different implant material, infection and hormones on gene expression in bone healing .
Computer-assisted pathological analysis and telepathology of cancer - an applied research project in the frame of “Ardia” (Advanced Remote Diagnosis Ltd.), a company founded in 2000 in collaboration with “Incubator-Orit” at Ariel. Funding: Chief Scientist's Office, Ministry of Industry and Trade .
